A medical escort supports a traveler during a planned trip, but scheduled airline and private charter travel have different requirements. Participating providers assess which setting, staffing level, and equipment may be appropriate.
Private charter medical escort
For travelers who need greater privacy, itinerary flexibility, additional medical personnel, specialized equipment, or a travel plan that a scheduled airline cannot accommodate.
A private charter medical escort is not automatically the same as a dedicated air ambulance. The provider and aircraft operator must confirm the aircraft configuration, staffing, equipment, and operating requirements for each trip.
One nurse or a medical team
Some travelers may be appropriately supported by one qualified nurse or other medical professional. Others may require two or more medical personnel based on mobility, monitoring, equipment, route, or transfer needs.
Provider-led staffing

Travel approval

Will insurance cover a medical escort?

Does BookMediFly charge the traveler an affiliate fee?
No. Participating Fixed Wing Air Ambulance and Commercial Assist / Medical Escort affiliates pay 3.9% per completed transport, subject to a $399 minimum, when booked through MediFly under applicable terms. This is one fee per completed booking, not per connecting flight, and the $399 minimum is not an added surcharge. The provider sets its own transport price; BookMediFly does not add a markup to its quote or provide the transport or medical care.
Does BookMediFly provide medical care or operate aircraft?
No. BookMediFly is a software marketplace and quote-coordination platform. It does not provide medical care, determine fitness to fly, employ the escort staff for a trip, operate aircraft, or act as an insurer.
